Amendments to Footpath Trading Policy

posted in: News | 0

Upper Hunter Shire Council has prepared an amended Footpath Trading Policy to provide greater flexibility for local businesses undertaking activities on Council footpaths and to encourage greater activation of public spaces.

In addition, Council is proposing to amend its 2015/16 Fees and Charges Schedule by introducing a new annual footpath trading licence fee. The fee will apply to all businesses that place two or more items on Council footpaths including A-frame signs, tables and chairs, display stands and umbrellas. The proposed annual fee is $84.00 per business for two or more articles placed on a public footpath.

The current fee of $42.00 per item per annum will continue to apply to businesses with a single item on a public footpath.

Council is seeking feedback from members of the community by 4 September 2015.
