Upper Hunter’s Australia Day 2016 celebrations and nominations

Upper Hunter Shire residents will celebrate Australia Day 26 January 2016 with the following events:

Aberdeen

Aberdeen Rose Garden

7.00am-9.30am – bacon and egg rolls provided by Aberdeen Lions Club for a gold coin donation.

Aberdeen Sports & Recreation Club

9.00am, golf – 3 person Ambrose.

1.00pm – lunch, Ambassador Address and Awards Ceremony. Lunch is $20.00 per person, bookings are to be made with the Aberdeen Sports & Recreation Club on 6543 7226.

4.00pm – bowls.

Scone

Council Chambers, Corner Liverpool and Main streets, Scone

10.30am – Ambassador Address, Awards Ceremony, Citizenship Ceremony, entertainment by Scone RSL Pipes & Drums and Scone Singers. Refreshments will be provided in the foyer at the conclusion.

12noon-4.00pm – free admission at Scone Memorial Swimming Pool. There will be a free sausage sizzle provided by Scone Lions, Sparkles the Clown, jumping castle, novelty events and DJ music.

Murrurundi

Wilson Memorial Oval, Murrurundi

8.00am – Murra Country Markets

11.00am –Grand Parade.

12 noon – Ambassador Address and Awards Ceremony.

1.00pm – Games, BBQ and novelty events.

3.00pm – Cricket match.

4.00pm-7.00pm – free pool entry

Merriwa and Cassilis

Cassilis Bowling Club

11.00am –Ambassador Address and Awards Ceremony.

12 noon Free BBQ lunch.

Merriwa Pool

2.00pm-6.00pm – free pool entry
