The Great Scone Bake-Off

A week-long event that highlights the scone (the cake) in Scone (the town).

Have a Scone in Scone from the 22nd – 28th of October and then enjoy the finale scone-making judging event at St Luke’s Fair on Saturday the 29th of October. Scone tasting, stalls, and lots of family friendly activities to enjoy.

A week-long event that highlights the scone (the cake) in Scone (the town) and the chance for businesses, community members and school, to be awarded the title of BEST SCONE IN SCONE.

The event is running from Saturday 22nd October to Saturday 29th October, with the Great Scone Bake Off Finale Judging taking place at St Luke’s Fair on Saturday 29 October.

The event ‘Have a Scone in Scone’ will include 2 main sections, the first will be ‘Have a Scone in Scone’, a People’s Choice competition where customers can taste and vote on scones, and the second the finale event where judging of businesses, community and schools will take place at St Luke’s Fair on Saturday 29 October.

The event will also include an array of other activities which will be run by various organisations and community groups throughout the week of the event. Activities Calendar to come.  

How to Have a Scone in Scone

22-27 October, various venues in and around Scone 

Have a Scone in Scone’, a People’s Choice competition where participating hospitality businesses showcase their scones during the week and are judged by the customers. Visit various local venues all offering their own scone experience, from Devonshire to High Teas and more. Activities Calendar to come.  

St Luke’s Fair – Scone Judging Finale
29 October 2022, St Luke’s Anglican Church 78 Hill Street, From 9am

With free entry, everyone is invited to attend the St Luke’s Fair and ‘Have a Scone in Scone’ Finale judging event. It will be a great family-friendly day out for all including Scone tasting, stalls, and lots of family-friendly activities to enjoy.

Take Part in the Scone Making Competition

Businesses, Schools and Individual Community Members can compete simply by bringing their scones to the St Luke’s Fair for judging by CWA on the 29th of October.

SECTIONS: Business, School, School Jnr, and Community (individual)

CATEGORIES: Traditional. Pumpkin, Date and Cheese.

TO ENTER:

  • Entries are to be brought to St Luke’s Hall on Saturday 29th October NO LATER than 9am.
  • Six separate scones are to be presented on one plate.
  • Each scone is to be no bigger than 6cms (2 ½”) in diameter.
  • Only ONE type of scone is to be placed on each plate of six scones.
  • Entries to be collected before close of function/fair.
  • Judge’s decision is final
  • Winners will be announced at 3pm on Saturday 29 and Awards presented
