Scone is a 'gateway' to the Barrington Tops, home of the Devil’s Ark project. Visitors can relax at one of our outstanding accommodation houses before walking Burning Mountain or casting a line in one of the area’s pristine rivers.

Doing Business In Scone

The future is exciting – investment opportunities abound amid a relaxed and affordable rural lifestyle.

Scone offers convenient access to regional and metropolitan centres – a three-hour drive to Sydney, two hours to Newcastle, and 90 minutes to Tamworth. In addition to the excellent roads, Scone also has an airport and heavy rail infrastructure. The area is a diverse commercial base with a resilient, long-standing foundation industry: Scone is the largest thoroughbred breeding district in Australia.
