The Cottage Scone
With its grand proportions and old-fashioned character, 196 Kelly Street has been home to many things over the years. Built in the 1860’s, the quaint cottage nestled in the main street of Scone originally was a private hospital and the Kyeema Guest House, and more recently the Pastoral Lands Board.
Lovingly restored by Sydney businessman and local land owner Michael Crouch and his wife Shanny, The Cottage is now home to the Upper Hunter’s newest restaurant. Michael and Shanny envisaged a restaurant that could become a local gathering place for everyone to visit and enjoy – a destination and a chance to give back to the community.
The Cottage offers breakfast Tuesday – Saturday and lunch and dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Fully licensed, its versatile layout offers options for events – from intimate dinners for up to 20, to larger occasions such as weddings catering up to 150 guests cocktail style.
