Empowering Changemakers: Carrie’s Place Hosts Inspirational International Women’s Day Brunch

Carrie’s Place, local domestic violence and homelessness charity, invites the community to join
them for an inspirational and inclusive International Women’s Day Brunch on Wednesday, 6th
March at Maitland Town Hall.

Under the theme, “Empowering changemakers, women and girls, through storytelling,
innovation, and technology,” the event aims to connect, support, educate, and empower
women and girls on crucial issues in the digital age including coercive control and online
safety.

Event Highlights:

• Keynote Speech by Jas Rawlinson: Award-winning author and domestic violence
advocate Jas Rawlinson will deliver a keynote speech, with an opportunity for book sales and
signing.

• Personal Stories and Partnerships: Hear powerful presentations from a client with lived
experience and the Zahra Foundation, currently collaborating with Carrie’s Place to deliver the
‘Pathway to Empowerment’ program.

• Tech Safety Expert: An industry expert in tech safety and IT will share insights to increase
awareness about coercive control and enhance personal safety.

• Delicious Brunch and Entertainment: Enjoy a delicious brunch catered by Sprout
Catering, complemented by entertainment from local artist John Milburn. All guests will also
receive a special gift bag.

Ticket Information: Tickets are available for $80 per person, and all funds raised contribute to
critical services that keep women and families housed, safe, and free from abuse in the
