NEIGH-bour Art Competition
is on again this year!
Will your business or school’s painted pony be a winner?
The competition is your chance to show your artistic flair and your support for Scone’s iconic Horse Festival in 2023.
You can purchase your horse and submit one or more images of your finished entry on this page.
There are three horse cutouts to choose from – standing, running or bucking. You can purchase and enter more than one horse.
To make your purchase simply fill in 'Horse Order Form’ at the bottom of this page.
Horses can be ordered up until April 8.
Sponsored by Scone Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the NEIGH-bour Art Competition is open to Scone’s businesses and schools. Each sector will compete in categories for the title of the best-decorated horse.
Winning businesses and schools will pocket a $100 ‘We LIVE here’ local investment gift card and a winner’s ribbon to pin on their entry. There are five cards in total to be won.
The Chamber hopes to see whole herds of painted ponies all around the Upper Hunter to add to the festive mood in Scone during this year’s Horse Festival.

Each winner will receive one of five ‘We LIVE here’ local investment gift cards valued at $100 each, plus a winner's ribbon.
How To Enter

- Order and pay for your wooden horse cut-out online using the Horse Order Form below. Orders will be accepted up until April 8. The horses will then be made by local wood craftsman, Brad Moran.
- You will be advised when your horse is ready to be collected from the Chamber office at Shop 6B/167 Kelly St., at Cambell's Corner. The office is staffed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Entries must be submitted by 5pm on Friday, May 5. Judging will be completed by Friday, May 19 and the winners announced on Tuesday, May 31.
- To enter, simply submit a clear image of your finished horse using the ‘Submit Your Entry’ button below.
- To be eligible, you must also post your artworks on Facebook or Instagram tagging the Chamber @sconechamber or using the hashtag #NEIGHbourArt2023.
- We ask that all entrants display their horse where it can be seen by passers-by at your workplace or school.
