Nursery and Garden Centre, Plants on Main opened in 2018 on the former ‘Scone Potting Shed’ site, located on Main Street, Scone. Since that time, the owners and nursery team have transformed the centre into a delightful and premier nursery, providing quality garden products, plants, homewares, flowers and gardening advice.
Walking into and through the centre is certainly an enchanting experience that ignites the senses; with blooming flowers, colourful artisan homewares and greenery for days – customers will not only find an exquisite range of products, they will be met with superb service and expertise.
‘Plants on Main’ is proudly owned and operated by Scone locals, Lynda Posa and Hilton Ariel.
Lynda is the centres horticulturalist with many years of experience in the industry and provides customers firsthand plant advice and landscaping consulting. Hilton, although retired, continues to contribute to the business by bringing his wealth of practical knowledge and technical skills to the business’s operations. Making up the rest of the team are customer service experts, Jo and Camilla, horticulturist’s Troy and Mitch and not forgetting Lach and Holly.
In exciting news, the team at Plants on Main are in the process of expanding operations, by building an onsite café. The perfect addition to what is already a wonderful place to visit. Clare has a long history and experience in hospitality and is excited to be the one overseeing the new endeavour.
“There is still a lot to be done but we just wanted to let the community know to keep their eyes out for the newest local place to stop for coffee, sweets and other delicious goodies. It will be wonderful that our customers will soon be able to experience the nursery and then sit in the peaceful and vibrant café for tea of coffee or a light bite to eat – we think it just makes sense to include this in the overall customer experience of the centre” Lynda, Owner, Plants on Main.
Plants on Main managed to continue operations throughout the pandemic and was happy for a while to be the go-to garden centre for all of those local home owners wanting to take advantage of being at home by finally getting into the garden. However, this trend is now in decline as people tighten their budgets and their time goes back into other areas of focus. As a local business the centre is now seeing it’s fair share of fluctuating business as economic uncertainty continues to be realised across the country – it’s even more important than ever to support our local economy by choosing to shop local whenever possible.
The team at Plants on Main thank the community for their continued support and look forward to seeing you at the centre soon.
