Take the target off Our TARGET

Scone Chamber last week agreed to begin a campaign to try and save the local Target Store. The campaign titled “Take the target off Our TARGET” will be focused on trying to convince Target Australia to be a major part of the revitalised Scone CBD.

Chamber will be talking to the Council and our local Members of Parliament to try and unify the approach to be taken. Chamber is fully aware and appreciative of the Facebook campaign by Michael Johnsen MP, but have been approached by a number of concerned locals to try and broaden that campaign.

Chamber President Mr. Steve Guihot said today that the local Target Store would benefit greatly by being part of the new look Kelly Street Redevelopment.

“We understand that business conditions have been difficult for retail. However, the opportunity to be part of the redeveloped CBD may not have been fully considered by Target Management. We intend to work with Council along with Michael and Barnaby to convey the great opportunities those plans provide” he said.

The Chamber are calling on interested locals wanting to be part of this campaign to make contact with the Chamber through our website or through our Facebook page.
